In the dispute with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, US President Donald Trump has followed up and threatened that the USA could lose its patience. He responded to statements made by Zelenskyi to journalists in London, according to which a deal to end the war is still "very, very far away". "This is the worst statement that Zelensky could make and America will not put up with it much longer," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. Trump went on to explain: "It's what I said: This guy doesn't want peace as long as he has America's support."

At a meeting between the Europeans and Canadians and Zelenskyi in London on Sunday, they stated that they could not do the job without the USA, Trump continued. This was certainly not a great statement to show strength towards Russia. "What are they thinking?"
There was a scandal during Zelensky's visit to Washington last week. In the Oval Office, Trump and his vice president J.D. Vance hurled serious accusations at Zelensky, accusing him of a lack of gratitude, among other things. On Sunday, Western heads of state and government decided that a group of states led by the UK and France should work with Ukraine on a peace plan, which would then be discussed with the USA and, ideally, implemented.
