"I have just signed a decree extending the suspension of tariffs on China for an additional 90 days," Trump wrote on his online service Truth Social on Monday (local time).

China is taking important steps "to address U.S. economic and national security concerns," according to the decree published on Truth Social. Trump went on to explain that he considers it "necessary and appropriate" to maintain the pause until November 10.

Trump thus confirmed reports from the Wall Street Journal and CNBC that he had signed such a decree. The US President had previously praised the "pretty good" negotiations with Beijing.
