"I am speaking with President Putin right now," the Republican wrote on his Truth Social platform on Thursday afternoon (local time). It was a long conversation that would continue. Trump announced that both he and Putin would report on the content once they had finished. He did not provide any further details on the content or planned length of the phone call.

The topic of the conversation was to be the war in Ukraine, the portals "Axios" and "The Hill" had previously reported, citing a person familiar with the plans and the White House.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected at the White House on Friday.
