US President Donald Trump is on his way back to the USA after his state visit to China, which lasted several days. The Republican boarded Air Force One at the capital's airport in Beijing and raised a clenched fist in the air as a farewell gesture.

It was Trump's second state visit to China after 2017. After his arrival on Wednesday evening (local time), he also met with head of state Xi Jinping several times before Friday. According to US reports, agreements were made in the economic, aviation and agricultural sectors during the meetings. There was no concrete information yet on the status of these agreements. Trump spoke of "fantastic trade deals" without going into detail.
The two largest economies also exchanged views on the Taiwan conflict and the Iran war. China warned Washington not to interfere too much with Taiwan. The country lays claim to the independent island.
According to Trump, Beijing is said to have made an unspecified offer of assistance in the Iran war. China, meanwhile, renewed its call for a permanent ceasefire.
If Xi accepts Trump's invitation for a return visit, there will be a meeting at the White House in the US capital on September 24.
