US President Donald Trump considers Iran's response to the US proposal to end the war to be "totally unacceptable". "I just read the response from the so-called "representatives" of Iran. I don't like it - TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE," he wrote on his Truth Social platform. There were no further details about the proposal. Hours earlier, he had already threatened Tehran in another post. "They won't be laughing much longer!" he said.

Iran had previously passed on a response to the US proposal to end the war to the mediator Pakistan, as reported by the state news agency Irna. The state broadcaster Irib reported that the text proposed by Iran focused on ending the fighting on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon, as well as ensuring the safety of shipping.
A few days ago, Iran's government announced that it was examining a proposal from the USA. This is a 14-point declaration of intent. One of its aims is to create a framework for negotiations, initially lasting 30 days, in order to end the war.
According to media reports, an easing of US sanctions and agreements on the future of the Strait of Hormuz are also being discussed. In addition, a basis for negotiations on Iran's controversial nuclear program is to be created.
