US President Donald Trump has ordered the relocation of two nuclear submarines due to the dispute with former Russian head of state Dmitry Medvedev. This was done "just in case these foolish and provocative statements are more than just that", the Republican wrote on his Truth Social platform. It was initially unclear exactly where the submarines would be deployed. Trump only wrote of "suitable regions".

The US President went on to write: "Words are very important and can often lead to unintended consequences". He hoped that this would not be one of those cases.

Dispute over ultimatum

Trump and Medvedev have been arguing publicly for days. The starting point was Trump's new ultimatum, in which he shortened the deadline for a ceasefire or peace between Russia and Ukraine, which is under attack from Moscow, to ten days - and threatened sanctions. This deadline expires next week.

Medvedev then used Platform X to threaten a direct military conflict between Russia and the USA, among other things. According to him, every ultimatum is a step on the road to war. He referred to Trump as a "grandpa", among other things. Medvedev also wrote that the US President should remember the danger of zombies when he philosophizes about the death of the Indian and Russian economies.

Trump had stated that he also wanted to impose at least 25 percent tariffs and a "penalty" on India because of its trade relations with Russia, calling both economies dead.
