Great Britain Trump to receive British Prime Minister Starmer
US President Donald Trump plans to receive British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House soon. Starmer will come to Washington next week, spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told Fox News. This would make Starmer the first head of government from a European country to be welcomed to the US capital by Trump in his second term of office. However, an exact date has not yet been announced by either side.

Among other things, the meeting will focus on negotiations on the future of Ukraine, said Leavitt. Starmer had previously campaigned in Paris for a security guarantee from the USA for Ukraine in the event of a peace agreement with Russia. The talks on Monday, to which French President Emmanuel Macron had invited, were marked by the US administration's recent change of course in foreign policy and its rapprochement with Moscow.
Starmer had called on European countries to increase their defense spending. The UK is also prepared to participate in a possible international force to secure peace in Ukraine in the event of a negotiated solution.
