According to President Donald Trump, the US military has launched extensive attacks against Iran. The Republican said this in a video published on his Truth Social platform. Prior to the announcement, Israel had already announced that it had launched a pre-emptive strike against Iran.

The aim was to defend the American people by eliminating the immediate threat posed by the Iranian leadership. US forces were conducting a "massive and sustained operation" to prevent this "radical dictatorship" from threatening US national security interests.

Trump: Iran will never have a nuclear weapon

Trump announced that he would destroy Iran's missiles. "We will destroy their navy," he continued. They will make sure that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. "They will never have a nuclear weapon," he emphasized. The Iranian leadership would soon learn that the strength of the US armed forces should never be challenged.

Trump also called on the Revolutionary Guards, Iranian armed forces and police forces to lay down their weapons. In this case, he held out the prospect of complete immunity. Otherwise they would face certain death.

Addressing the Iranian people, Trump said: "The hour of your freedom has come." People should stay safe and not leave their homes. Bombs would fall. "When we're done, take over your government."

Attacks amid new negotiations over nuclear program

Earlier, Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz had announced that his country had launched a pre-emptive strike against Iran to eliminate threats to Israel.

The attacks come amid new negotiations between the USA and Iran. Washington and Tehran had already negotiated over Iran's controversial nuclear program last year before Israel attacked Iran. The US joined the airstrikes and bombed key nuclear facilities. Iran's air force responded by firing ballistic missiles at Israel.
