The party of imprisoned and deposed Istanbul mayor Ekrem Imamoglu published a list of numerous brands and names. "We don't see who doesn't see us," read a post on X by CHP politician Özgür Celik. The list includes a well-known coffee shop chain and food companies. But also publishing houses and several television stations.

Since the arrest of the opposition politician last Wednesday, tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and other cities despite bans. In some cases, there have been violent clashes between the police and demonstrators.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, more than 1,100 people have been arrested since the protests began, including at least ten journalists and photographers.

Imamoglu is considered the most promising political challenger to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the election scheduled for 2028 and was nominated as a candidate by the largest opposition party. He was arrested on charges of corruption and terrorism.

On Sunday, he was remanded in custody and removed as mayor of the metropolis of Istanbul. Imamoglu denies all allegations and accuses the government of wanting to use the investigations to politically immobilize him.
