There were air raids throughout the country, including in regions in western Ukraine far from the front line, reported The Kyiv Independent. On Saturday evening, the Ukrainian air force had already warned of bombers and drones that Russia had sent to various regions. Explosions and impacts were reported in Zaporizhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and the Cherkasy region. According to the RBK-Ukraine news agency, explosions were also heard in Kiev at night.
According to reports, the governor initially reported at least three casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure in attacks in the Cherkasy region. Damage was also reported in other areas.
Citing the Polish armed forces, the reports stated that fighter jets had been assembled and air defenses activated from the ground in response to the attacks in the west of the neighbouring country, which borders Poland.
