At least four people were killed in a drone attack on a passenger train in the Kharkiv region in eastern Ukraine, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Another four are still being searched for and two have been injured, Selenskyj wrote on social media. "There is and can be no military justification for killing civilians in a train carriage," he said.

In any country, such an attack would be considered terrorism, Selensky wrote on the X platform. He called for more pressure on Russia and for it to be punished for its actions. In his evening video message, he also demanded more pressure on the Russian oil industry, which Moscow uses to finance its war of aggression.
According to Selenskyj, there were more than 200 passengers on the train that was attacked. The Ukrainian Minister for Regional Development, Olexiy Kuleba, had previously spoken of 291 passengers, while the regional prosecutor's office spoke of more than 155 passengers.
According to Kuleba, three drones, originally of the Iranian Shahed type, struck in front of the locomotive and in a passenger carriage. The train was traveling west on the Barwinkowe-Lwiw-Chop route.
In the past, Russian attacks have repeatedly resulted in deaths and damage to train services and railroad stations in Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities have now described a direct attack on a passenger train. Ukraine has been defending itself against Russian aggression for almost four years.
