Around 10,000 people remain in the Pokrovsk district, 7,000 of them in the city, said the head of the Pokrovsk military administration, Serhiy Dobryak. "There are no children left in the community, they have all left." Before the start of the Russian war of aggression, around 60,000 people lived in the mining town in the Donetsk region.
The strategically important city is currently one of the main directions of attack for Russian troops. According to the evening situation report from the General Staff in Kiev, Russian troops made 48 of 159 advances along the front in the Pokrovsk area alone during the course of the day. The Russian military is already positioned to the east, south and west of the city and is threatening to cut off an important supply route.
