According to Ukrainian sources, talks on US President Donald Trump's peace plan to end the Russian war of aggression have begun in Geneva. This was announced by Ukrainian negotiator Andriy Yermak on Telegram; he heads the nine-member delegation appointed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The first meeting with the national security advisors of the heads of state and government of the United Kingdom, France and Germany had taken place, said Jermak. A meeting with the US delegation is planned next.
"We are in a very constructive mood," he said. A series of meetings in various formats are planned today. "We continue to work together to achieve a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine." Trump's 28-point plan demands major concessions from Ukraine in particular.
Selenskyj: Hoping for a positive outcome
Selenskyj had stated that he wanted to make alternative proposals. After the start of the talks, he said that the Ukrainian, US and European teams were in close contact and working on steps to end the war. "The bloodshed must be stopped and we must ensure that the war is never reignited," Selensky wrote on social media.
"I await the results of today's talks and hope that all participants will be constructive. We all need a positive outcome," the president emphasized. Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian war of aggression with Western help for almost four years now.
