The Ukrainian secret service SBU has attacked four Russian military airfields in a coordinated operation and, according to its own account, destroyed over 40 fighter and reconnaissance aircraft. Even an airport in Irkutsk, Siberia, was attacked, as confirmed by Russian media. However, the Russian media did not provide any details about the aircraft destroyed.

According to Ukrainian reports, Tupolev Tu-95 and Tu-22 fighter jets and special early warning aircraft Beriyev A-50 were destroyed in the "Operation Spider's Web". According to officially unconfirmed reports, the Ukrainian secret service used combat drones that were launched from hiding places in wooden houses loaded onto trucks. Independent confirmation was not possible.

The agents involved in the operation had already returned to Ukraine, the SBU emphasized. The Ukrinform agency showed photos of the drones prepared for the special operation.
