With immediate effect, this will affect foreigners applying for permanent residency as well as foreign students. A spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security said that there is no place for terrorist sympathizers in the United States and that the US is under no obligation to accept or tolerate them in the country.
In line with President Donald Trump's executive orders to combat anti-Semitism and protect against foreign terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security will fully enforce all immigration laws, he said. The aim is to protect the USA from extremists and foreigners who support terrorist organizations such as Hamas or the Houthi militia, the press release stated.
In line with this policy, anti-Semitic content on social media will be considered a negative factor in the agency's assessment of an application. This guideline applies with immediate effect.
