By stopping its military aid to Ukraine, the US government has also suspended the provision of intelligence information to Kiev for the time being. This was confirmed by the head of the US foreign intelligence agency CIA, John Ratcliffe, in an interview on Fox Business.

He also gave Ukraine hope that support could soon be resumed following the recent reconciliation efforts of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky. He believes that the pause "on the military front and on the intelligence front" will disappear.

US President Donald Trump's National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, also said on Fox News that if negotiations for a peace settlement in Ukraine could be advanced, "then the president will seriously consider lifting this pause".

Last week, there was a major scandal between Trump and Selenskyj in the White House, whereupon the Americans suspended military aid for Ukraine for the time being - as well as the militarily important transfer of reconnaissance data, as Ratcliffe has now confirmed. However, there has since been a rapprochement again after Selensky publicly approached Trump and the US president responded favorably.
