The US military has once again attacked targets of the Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen. Warships and aircraft attacked a command center and a facility for the production and storage of weapons, according to the responsible US regional command Centcom. Among other things, missiles and drones were located there for Houthi attacks on the US Navy and international merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. A radar facility and several cruise missiles belonging to the militia were also destroyed, it was reported.

The Huthi-affiliated television station Al-Masirah reported at least ten attacks by the USA and Great Britain in Yemen. Among other things, two of the attacks were aimed at the Huthi Ministry of Defense in the capital Sanaa. Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam spoke of a "blatant breach of the sovereignty of an independent state".
Like Hamas in the Gaza Strip and the Lebanese Hezbollah militia, the Houthi are allied with Israel's arch-enemy Iran. Since the beginning of the Gaza war, in which Israel is fighting against the Islamist Hamas, the Houthi have repeatedly fired rockets at Israel and merchant ships in the Red Sea in solidarity with Hamas.
