Russia US Secretary of State Rubio: ceasefire is not off the table
Following the summit meeting between US President Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, a ceasefire in the Ukraine war is still under discussion, according to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. When asked whether a ceasefire was no longer on the table, Rubio said in an interview with US broadcaster NBC News: "No, it's not off the table".

The overriding goal is to conclude a "comprehensive peace agreement". "I think that's the best way to end the war." Rubio questioned whether there had to be a ceasefire on the way there. He said that the United States had campaigned for this, but Russia had not yet agreed to it.
On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi will travel to Washington with broad support from Europe.
