The company Eta had briefly suspended its services in protest against the man's arrest by Hamas security forces. According to the company, it supplies more than one million people in the area where clean water is scarce.

Through investigation and communication with those responsible, the circumstances of the employee's arrest have been clarified, according to a statement. The incident was based on a misunderstanding. No details were given. The man is doing well. It was not explicitly stated whether he was released. The matter has been settled amicably, it simply said.

The company also apologized for any misunderstandings in the case. It had respect for the responsible authorities in the Gaza Strip, which are controlled by Hamas. The Islamists have not yet commented on the incident.

The terrorist organization has regained control in many areas of the Gaza Strip. Protests against it are very rare in the coastal strip. It is known for taking tough action against internal opponents.
