A well-known human rights lawyer in Iran has been released after more than a month in prison. Nasrin Sotudeh was released on bail on Wednesday, her daughter Mehraveh Khandan reported on Instagram. "Mom was released on bail a few hours ago," she wrote.

The 62-year-old Sotudeh is considered one of the most influential lawyers in Iran. She was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize in 2020. Sotudeh has been imprisoned several times in recent years and spent many years behind bars. At the beginning of April, she was arrested in the middle of the Iran war.
