US President Donald Trump has once again lashed out at comedian Stephen Colbert, who had presented his late-night show on US television for the last time the previous day. The White House posted a clip on the X platform, apparently created using artificial intelligence, in which Trump can be seen grabbing the satirist by the collar, throwing him into a garbage can and then making dance moves. The White House also posted a "bye-bye" and a waving hand. Trump also published the clip on the Truth Social platform. It was not clear who posted the sequences.

Colbert presented the last edition of his show on US television late on Thursday evening (US local time). Trump had long made no secret of the fact that he did not like the long-standing late-night talker's show. He wrote on Truth Social after his departure: "You could pick some passer-by off the street and he would be better than this total idiot. Thank God he's finally gone!".

Last summer, the TV station CBS surprisingly announced that it was canceling the show, officially for "purely financial reasons". Industry insiders suspect that the broadcaster acted out of consideration for Trump, who was repeatedly harshly criticized on the show.
