Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has traveled to London against the backdrop of diminishing attention for the war in his country.

"Our priorities are clear: more security and opportunities for Ukraine," Selensky wrote on social media. Meetings are planned with King Charles, Prime Minister Keir Starmer and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. He will also give a speech in the British Parliament. The British government also announced new arms cooperation with Kiev.

Following the start of the war with Iran, Kiev is struggling with the fact that international support is waning. Zelenskyi repeatedly offered the monarchies in the Persian Gulf and the USA help in defending against Iranian drones. However, no concrete agreements have been announced to date. US President Donald Trump brusquely rejected the Ukrainian offer of help.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a Russian invasion for more than four years with Western help. In particular, the Ukrainian air defence system has been modernized. However, Kiev is now in direct competition with the Gulf states for scarce Patriot anti-aircraft missiles.
