Russia Zelenskyi spoke with US representatives about peace plan
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly discussed the status of the peace plan for his country by telephone with US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The Ukrainian representatives Rustem Umjerow and Andrij Hnatow were also involved, Selenskyj wrote on X. The Ukrainians have been negotiating with the Americans in Florida since Thursday.

"We (...) have gone through key points that can ensure an end to the bloodshed and eliminate the danger of a new Russian invasion and the risk of Russia not keeping its promises, as has happened several times in the past," Selensky wrote. This sounds like security guarantees, but he did not give any details.
Ukraine will continue to cooperate with the US side, which is seriously trying to achieve peace, the Ukrainian head of state explained. He thanked US President Donald Trump for his commitment. As a next step, he expected Umyerov and Hnatov to report in person.
Agreement on a security structure?
Witkoff and the US State Department announced on Friday evening (US local time) that the USA and Ukraine were in agreement on the framework of a future security structure and deterrence capabilities. An end to the war would depend above all on whether Moscow showed a "serious commitment to long-term peace".
The Russian invasion of the neighboring country has been going on for almost four years. Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin insists on tough demands on Ukraine, which amount to territorial cessions and ultimately a capitulation by Kiev.
