Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi has once again warned Belarus against going to war against his country. The day before, there had been unusual activity from the Belarusian side on the common border, the head of state said in a video message. Kiev was monitoring the situation. "And if necessary, we will react," he warned. He did not give any more specific details.

Back in April, Zelensky warned Minsk against getting involved in the Russian war against Ukraine. Since then, Kiev has imposed new sanctions against Belarus, including against two sons of head of state Alexander Lukashenko. During its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the Russian army also advanced from the territory of its ally Belarus towards the Ukrainian capital Kiev. However, Minsk did not participate directly in the fighting.
