The Italian delegation arrived in the Swiss capital shortly before 10 a.m., according to a Keystone-SDA video reporter on the scene. Two police officers accompanied the convoy.
The meeting took place on the premises of the Federal Office of Justice (FOJ). In addition to the coordination of criminal proceedings between the two countries, the possibility of setting up a joint investigation team will also be discussed.
The FOJ, which was contacted in advance, explained that it was a "technical meeting between law enforcement authorities". No member of the government will take part. The Valais public prosecutor's office granted Italy legal assistance in this matter at the end of January.
