Ursula Nötzli, Head of Communications at TX Group, told AWP on Tuesday that there is a need for action in the printing sector due to the high level of overcapacity. The three printing centers are currently operating at between 30 and over 50 percent capacity.

Tamedia anticipates restructuring costs of just under CHF 30 million in the second half of the year for the closure of the printing plants in Bussigny and Zurich and the social plan.

Now that the future location of the printing plants is clear, the real estate strategy is taking center stage. Marcel Weiler, Head of Real Estate Management at TX Group, and his team will now push ahead with this real estate strategy as a top priority, explained Nötzli.

TX is examining various options. These include bundling the properties in a separate company as well as cooperating with specialized real estate companies.
