Switzerland firmly rejects all forms of violence, anti-Semitism and hatred, Keller-Sutter announced on the short message service X. Following the terrorist attack on Bondi Beach, Switzerland expresses its solidarity with the victims and their families, the Federal Councillor continued.
According to official figures, attackers killed twelve people in the attack on a Jewish festival in the Australian metropolis of Sydney. The attack on the first day of Hanukkah was directed against the Jewish community, said the head of government of the Australian region of New South Wales, Chris Minns.
One of the attackers was also killed, according to state officials. According to police, 29 people were taken to hospital, including two police officers.
