The wet weather in spring and summer 2024 had a negative impact on purchasing behavior overall, the retailer wrote in a press release on Tuesday. For example, sales of pools and irrigation systems fell in the summer. On the other hand, demand for snail control products was high.
Sales of barbecues, e-bikes and lawn mowers and robots also developed positively. At the same time, however, price and competitive pressure from foreign online retailers increased in the entire non-food sector. With only a slight drop in sales, Landi stores therefore performed well compared to the rest of the sector, according to the report.
Landi operates 270 stores throughout Switzerland and, like the retailer Volg, the oil company Agrola, the drinks manufacturer Ramseier and numerous other companies, is part of the agricultural group Fenaco.
