The Kidflix platform was taken offline under the direction of the criminal investigation department of the German state of Bavaria. According to Europol, this is one of the largest paedophile platforms in the world. It is also said to be the largest operation against the sexual abuse of children in Europe to date.

Thousands of videos and around 1,400 suspects worldwide

The platform's servers with over 70,000 videos at the time were reportedly shut down by German and Dutch authorities at the beginning of March. Around 1,400 suspects have been identified worldwide. The 79 people arrested were not only suspected of having watched or downloaded videos of child sexual abuse. Some of them are also suspected of active abuse.

The investigation began in 2022. Investigators raided the site between March 10 and 23 and reportedly confiscated thousands of electronic devices and over 91,000 videos in total.

Platform set up by cyber criminals

According to Europol, Kidflix was set up by cybercriminals in 2021 and reportedly became one of the most popular platforms for paedophiles. Via Kidflix, users could pay to download and stream videos showing the sexual abuse of children.
