Fire Lifeless woman found after smoke develops in Thun apartment

The Bern cantonal police found a lifeless woman in an apartment building in Thun on Wednesday. They had previously received a report of heavy smoke in the apartment concerned.

The emergency services were only able to determine that the person was dead, as the Bern cantonal police announced on Thursday. The deceased was a 69-year-old Swiss woman. She had injuries resulting from a burn.

Some residents were evacuated for a short time, according to the statement. The cantonal police have started an investigation into the circumstances. An accident is currently in the foreground.
