The popular hiking trail to Fafleralp is partially closed due to the landslide.

Following the landslide in Blatten, tourism managers in the Lötschental valley in Valais are trying to attract travelers with new hiking offers. A Postbus company has launched a new service that will make less frequented hiking areas more accessible.
Since 5 July, minibuses have been running to Kummenalp and Faldumalp to the west of the Lauchernalp mountain station at around 2000 meters and back again. The service is aimed in particular at mountain hikers who do not want to hike for four to five hours, said Mathias Fleischmann, head of Lauchernalp Bergbahnen and Lötschental Marketing, to the media in Wiler on Tuesday.
Normally, the mountain trail from Lauchernalp to Fafleralp is the most popular route. Following the closure of this route due to the landslide at the end of May, the tourism experts looked for an alternative.
"The bus service has been expanded since last weekend. The demand is very pleasing, on a nice day we are practically at full capacity," said Fleischmann happily.
