This is the sixth positive quarter in a row in the normalization phase following the end of the coronavirus pandemic-related boom. Turnover rose by 5 percent to 1.15 billion dollars, as the company announced on Tuesday after the close of the US stock exchange.
Business grew across all major product categories. Logitech recorded particularly strong growth in webcams (+16 percent), tablet accessories (+16 percent) and video collaboration solutions (+13 percent).
On an adjusted basis, operating profit increased by 11 percent to 202 million dollars. Net profit rose by 7.8 percent to 188 million dollars. The gross margin fell slightly compared to the same quarter of the previous year - on a non-GAAP basis by 1.2 percentage points to 42.1%. Among other things, this was due to the impact of new US tariffs.
Good business in the Asia-Pacific region
For CEO Hanneke Faber, the result shows that Logitech can survive even in a challenging environment: "Our strategic priorities and strong demand have driven growth. Things went particularly well in the B2B business, in the consumer segment and in Asia-Pacific," she was quoted as saying in the press release.
For the current second quarter, the company is forecasting a turnover of between 1.155 and 1.190 billion dollars. This corresponds to growth of 3 to 7 percent in US dollars. The adjusted operating profit is expected to be between 180 and 200 million dollars. Logitech also reaffirmed its intention to react flexibly to risks such as geopolitical tensions, cost inflation or market changes.
