Around 400 people inside and almost a thousand outside held prayers, according to a Keystone-SDA reporter at the scene. These figures were confirmed by the cantonal police.

Those present gathered for about an hour from 6pm. This was followed by a musical part. Afterwards, the church was to remain open until 10 pm "in silence and light".

The parishes of Belmont-Lutry and Pully-Paudex had organized this ecumenical service for "all those seeking support and comfort at this dramatic time".

The Lutry football club was particularly affected by the tragedy, as several of its junior players were at "Le Constellation" in Crans-Montana at the time of the fire. No official figures have yet been released. However, the club announced on social media that its own members were among the victims.

The neighboring municipality of Pully VD is also shaken, especially the private school Champittet, which several victims of Crans-Montana attend. The school has confirmed the information, but without specifying the number of pupils affected.
