As reported by the "New York Times" and "USA Today", among others, the man pleaded guilty to the crime in court and was sentenced to five years in prison. He will have to serve two years in prison, with the remainder suspended on probation.
Several media outlets had reported on the crime. According to the police, a rental car rented by Beyoncé's choreographer and a dancer was broken into in July 2025. Two suitcases were stolen. Inside: laptops and USB sticks with unreleased music by the superstar as well as song lists for future concerts. The man who has now been convicted was reportedly arrested in August.
The singer was on tour with her Grammy award-winning album "Cowboy Carter" at the time of the car break-in. As part of the tour, she had also given concerts in London and Paris in June 2025. She performed four shows in Atlanta - the break-in happened two days before the first show in the city in the south-east of the USA.
