Accident Man fatally injured by electric shock at Bellinzona station

A man was fatally injured by an electric shock from the railroad overhead line at Bellinzona station on Sunday evening. According to the Ticino cantonal police, the reasons for the accident were still unclear on Monday morning.

The course of the accident is the subject of an investigation, the cantonal police announced on Monday.

In addition to the cantonal police, the Bellinzona municipal police, the transport police, the Bellinzona fire department and the Croce Verde Bellinzona rescue services were also deployed to the scene, according to the statement. However, they were only able to determine that the man had died. Formal identification of the man is still ongoing.
