Homicide Man in Sierre VS killed with a stabbing weapon during an argument

A man was killed on Monday evening in Sierre VS during a domestic dispute. The victim, a 57-year-old Swiss man, was killed with a stabbing weapon.

The suspected perpetrator, a 39-year-old Swiss national, was arrested, the Valais cantonal police announced on Tuesday. Initial investigations have revealed that an argument may have triggered the violence. The victim died at the scene of the altercation.

It was initially unclear where and under what circumstances the homicide took place. "No further information will be released at this time," a police spokesperson told the Keystone-SDA news agency on request.

The public prosecutor's office has launched an investigation in collaboration with the cantonal police. The police point out that the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction has been handed down.
