Neighborhood conflict Man threatens teenagers with a gun in Thurgau and is arrested

A man threatened a group of young people with a gun in Amriswil TG on Friday evening. He later told the police that they had disturbed his peace. Police officers arrested the 54-year-old German man at his home.

A blank-firing pistol was seized from the man, as the Thurgau cantonal police announced on Saturday. The public prosecutor's office initiated a criminal investigation.

Shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday, a teenager reported to the cantonal emergency call center that he and two other teenagers had been threatened with a gun by a neighbor on a seat in an apartment building on Weinfelderstrasse. The three teenagers were able to flee from the man and get to safety.
