Migros has practically completed the reorganization of the group that it announced over a year ago. The final step is the sale of the cosmetics subsidiary Mibelle, as Migros CEO Mario Irminger told the news agency AWP in an interview on Tuesday.

"We are in final negotiations with the buyer," said Irminger. Migros originally wanted to complete the sale by the end of March. Now, according to the CEO, it should be ready in the next few weeks.

According to Irminger, however, the potential buyer is a rather smaller company for which the effort involved in such a takeover is greater than for a large corporation such as the French consumer goods group L'Oréal, to which Migros recently sold the South Korean Mibelle subsidiary Gowoonsesang. "The sales process needs more time and patience. But we are hopeful," said Irminger.

Migros has been undergoing the biggest restructuring in its 100-year history since February 2024. It has divested several business units, including SportX, Melectronics, Bikeworld, Obi, Micasa and Hotelplan. The cosmetics and hygiene subsidiary Mibelle is also up for sale. The well-known own brands such as "I am" care products and "Handy" washing-up liquid will continue to be available from Migros in future.
