Migros does not disclose specific figures, such as the development of sales in the Christmas business, in the press release. Instead, the retail giant lists the products that were in particularly high demand in its stores over Christmas.
According to Migros, gingerbread, Christmas biscuits, panettone and ready-made cookie dough mixes sold particularly well. Truffle-flavored products, fondue chinoise meat, prime cuts of meat, ham, smoked salmon, fondue sauces and pickled vegetables also sold very well.
Christmas chocolate was also in great demand. In addition, products such as Finn's Beerenzauber and Apfelzauber syrups, non-alcoholic sparkling wines and Christmas spices such as cinnamon sticks, aniseed and cardamom sold very well.
Sales of the entire range of soft toys increased by 5% compared to the previous year. Children's make-up products also enjoyed growing popularity.
