Investigators have now identified 24 of the 40 victims of the Crans-Montana fire disaster.

A further 16 fatalities have been identified following the Crans-Montana fire disaster. They are four Swiss women, six Swiss men, two Italians and one Italian-Emirati, one Romanian, one French and one Turkish national.

They are between 14 and 39 years old, as the Valais cantonal police announced on Sunday. Their bodies were handed over to their families. In addition to the cantonal police, the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) and the Institute of Forensic Medicine are involved in the identification work.
According to current information, 40 people died in the fire disaster on New Year's Eve. So far, 24 of them have been identified. The others identified are four Swiss nationals aged between 16 and 24.
