A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash on the Gotthardstrasse near Gurtnellen UR on Saturday morning. The man fell on a left-hand bend near the Meitschligen bridge and collided with the crash barrier.

As reported by the Uri cantonal police on Sunday, the injured man was taken to the Uri cantonal hospital by the Uri ambulance service. Due to a positive rapid drug test, a blood and urine sample was ordered.

The police had to close the Gotthard road for around 30 minutes for the rescue and recovery work. The victim of the accident is a 37-year-old man.
