According to a joint press release issued by the social partners on Monday, minimum wages have been increased in the new CLA, particularly in finishing. This is to take account of the increased requirements in the industry, according to the statement. Apprentice wages have also been increased by CHF 100 per year of apprenticeship.

Another element of the new CLA is the crisis article introduced for the first time. It offers companies in difficult economic situations the opportunity to temporarily deviate from the CLA - but only under clearly regulated and strict conditions. According to the social partners, this is intended to safeguard jobs and at the same time prevent market distortions caused by dumping prices.
