Samsung will equip its new smartphones and gadgets with artificial intelligence functions across the board. In Paris, the electronics company presented a new generation of its folding smartphones and headphones, which are extensively equipped with AI functions.

For example, the headphones can automatically recognize siren signals in the environment and lower the volume of the music playback so that the user is aware of the danger situation. Samsung Mobile boss TM Roh said in Paris that his company had developed the first foldable smartphone and brought AI functions to mobile devices.
AI to help users
On the one hand, Samsung is relying on an AI developed in-house, which the South Koreans call Galaxy AI. At the same time, Samsung is also integrating AI technology from Google Gemini, such as the "Circle to Search" function. This allows users to mark a person or object with a circular finger movement and have it recognized on the screen by AI. Samsung AI also includes comprehensive translation functions for written texts and spoken language.
Samsung also presented a new generation of its smartwatches in Paris. The design of the newly launched Galaxy Watch Ultra model is strongly reminiscent of the Apple Watch Ultra, which the iPhone company launched on the market in 2022. The rectangular titanium case and the orange button for calling up certain actions are strongly reminiscent of Apple's design.
Distribution of fitness trackers begins
In contrast, there is no Apple counterpart in another product category: Samsung launched sales of the Galaxy Ring fitness tracker in Paris, which was first presented in January. The tracker looks like a massive jewelry ring and can record important health and fitness values via sensors on the inside.
Among other things, the data enables AI-supported sleep analysis. Users can better track their menstrual cycle by monitoring their skin temperature at night.
The Galaxy Ring also monitors heart health: if the heart rate is unusually high or low, the fitness ring triggers a pulse warning via the Samsung Health app. The ring is also designed to motivate people to lead an active lifestyle. An inactivity alarm reminds you to get moving.
Ring-shaped fitness trackers are currently only available from comparatively small providers such as Oura, Ultrahuman, Ringconn or Evie, some of which are only available with a monthly service subscription. Samsung offers the ring without a subscription and charges a one-off fee of just under 450 euros.
