Agriculture/Agriculture Oil stocks of a Geneva-based company bombed in Ukraine

Sunflower oil stocks of the Geneva-based company Allseeds have been bombed near the port city of Odessa. The director of the company told Keystone-SDA on Saturday that one person was killed and two injured in the attack.

Thousands of tons of oil were lost in the recent Russian airstrikes. "Our facilities in the port of Pivdenniy, 50 km east of Odessa, were bombed last week, last night and this morning. Three tanks are currently still on fire," said Director Kees Vrins.

In his opinion, it is still too early to draw up a precise damage assessment. "This is the eighth bombing since the beginning of the war," said Vrins, whose company has been active in the grain and oil trade in Ukraine for 28 years.
