Consumer goods On opens LightSpray factory in South Korea
Running shoe manufacturer On has opened a production facility for its LightSpray technology in South Korea. Thanks to the new plant with 32 robots, the global production capacity of the technology is to be increased 30-fold in 2026.

This was announced by the company on Wednesday. Last July, On commissioned its first LightSpray factory in Zurich with four robots.
The expansion will drive forward the scaling of automated shoe production, according to the announcement. The new site near the city of Busan will also provide insights for the planned global expansion.
LightSpray technology is a manufacturing technology developed by On for the production of shoe uppers. It enables the production of a seamless, one-piece shoe upper in a fully automated process within a few minutes.
