The AI company OpenAI has announced a further partnership with an important manufacturer of computer chips. The US company Broadcom will develop and produce semiconductors specifically for the needs of OpenAI.

This was announced by the developer of the chatbot ChatGPT on Monday. In recent weeks, Sam Altman's company has already announced several agreements with technology groups such as Nvidia and Samsung.

OpenAI wants to build its own data center infrastructure with massive investments. "In many ways, you could say that building AI infrastructure is the biggest industrial project in human history," explained Altman.

As with most such agreements, the financial terms of the Broadcom deal were not disclosed. This is causing skepticism among observers.

They fear that the massive investment in AI has created a financial bubble that poses a risk to investors. There are still no signs that the investments could pay off economically in the foreseeable future.
