Over 600,000 euros donated after the attack in Magdeburg

Mayor Simone Borris (non-party) said: "The willingness of the population to donate is impressive and a further sign of the great cohesion, broad support and sense of community that we are currently experiencing in many places in Magdeburg."

The city and Sparkasse Magdeburg set up the account to provide support to the victims and relatives of the attack on December 20 as quickly as possible. There are also other fundraising campaigns.

Taleb A., who comes from Saudi Arabia, drove a car through the Christmas market on Friday last week. Five people were killed and more than 200 others injured. The perpetrator is currently in custody.
