Pilatus Aircraft Ltd increased its turnover in the 2024 financial year. The Stans-based aviation company delivered more aircraft and increased its turnover accordingly. In particular, however, it also received significantly more orders.

Turnover rose by a good 10 percent year-on-year to 1.63 billion Swiss francs, as the company announced on Wednesday. A total of 153 aircraft were delivered to customers, 6 more than in 2023. 96 of these were of the PC-12 NGX type, 51 PC-24s and 6 PC-21s.

With an increase of almost 45 percent, order intake rose significantly to 2.19 billion. The order backlog thus increased by around a quarter to CHF 2.92 billion at the end of December.

Both divisions reported high demand. In Government Aviation, an important contract was concluded with the Canadian Air Force for PC-21s and associated simulators, as well as with the Netherlands for PC-7 MKXs. And in the business aviation sector, the PC-24 Super Versatile with extended payload and range made a successful market launch.

Supply bottlenecks and quality problems at suppliers proved to be a challenge last year, which impaired production processes. As a result, operating profit increased by 1.3 percent to 243 million Swiss francs, a disproportionately low increase compared to sales.
