An airplane has crashed at an air show in the United Arab Emirates. According to the government press office in Dubai, the pilot died in the accident during the Dubai Air Show. There was initially no information about other fatalities or injuries.

It was reportedly an Indian Tejas fighter plane. The Indian Air Force also confirmed the incident and announced an investigation into the cause of the accident. According to a report in the newspaper "Gulf News", further demonstrations were initially canceled, but the program was later resumed.
Videos circulating on social media show the plane abruptly losing altitude and plummeting. A fireball and a large cloud of smoke can then be seen. According to officials, rescue teams and fire engines rushed to the scene of the accident.
According to the report, the Dubai Air Show is one of the largest air shows in the world with around 1,500 exhibitors. It was scheduled to run until November 24.
