After an Air France plane on its way to Paris smelled a burning smell, the plane landed safely in Munich. No one was injured, said an airport spokesman.

The plane was able to taxi to its parking position on its own after landing at 8.19 p.m. on Sunday evening. "It was anything but dramatic."

The passengers and their luggage were accommodated in hotels on Sunday evening. It was initially unclear how many travelers were affected - the spokesperson said that there were certainly more than 200, referring to the type of aircraft.

The plane had taken off from Beirut in Lebanon and was originally due to land at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. It was initially unclear what could have caused the burning smell.

"The plane is still there," said the spokesperson in the morning. The airline will now take care of it.
